Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and Jory Global Limited ("we", "us") for the use of AskRecruit. If you use AskRecruit for an organisation, you accept these terms on its behalf and confirm you have authority to do so.

1. The service

AskRecruit lets organisations create interviews, share them by link, collect recorded and written answers, and review them as a team. We may improve or change features over time. If a change materially reduces what you've paid for, we will tell you in advance.

2. Your account

  • Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use.
  • You're responsible for activity in your account, including what your team members do.
  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.

3. Your responsibilities to the people you interview

  • You decide why you collect answers and how you use them. You are the data controller for candidates' and participants' data, and we process it for you.
  • You must have a lawful basis for each interview, tell people how their data will be used, and respond to their data requests. AskRecruit collects recording consent before each interview, but this doesn't replace your own obligations.
  • You must not use AskRecruit to discriminate unlawfully, and you must not make decisions about people based only on automated output.
  • You must not invite anyone under 18.

4. Credits

  • One credit covers one candidate response: one person who answers an interview and submits it. Invites are free.
  • A credit is held when someone starts an interview and used when they submit. If they abandon it, the credit returns to your wallet.
  • Credits are bought in advance, with a minimum purchase of 5. Credits expire 12 months after purchase.
  • Credits are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for money, except where the law requires otherwise.
  • New accounts receive 2 free responses for testing. Test answers are deleted after 7 days.

5. Subscription

  • The optional subscription adds AI features, unlimited team members and longer storage. It renews monthly until cancelled.
  • Without a subscription, an account can have up to 3 team members. If a subscription ends while you have more, existing members keep their access, but you can't invite anyone new until you're back within the limit.
  • You can cancel at any time; you keep access until the end of the paid period. We don't refund partial months.
  • AI features are subject to a fair-use allowance described in the product. Storage includes about 2,600 responses; above that, you can buy more storage or older videos follow the standard timeline.

6. Prices, VAT and payment

  • Prices are shown excluding VAT. VAT is added at checkout where it applies.
  • Payments are processed by our payment provider. If a subscription payment fails, features continue for 7 days while payment is retried, after which the subscription ends.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. Changes don't affect credits you've already bought.

7. How long content is kept

Retention follows your plan, as described on our pricing page and in our privacy policy. We email reminders before content is locked or deleted. Deleted recordings cannot be recovered, so please export anything you need to keep.

8. Your content

You and the people you interview own the content in your account. You give us permission to host, process, transcribe and display it only as needed to provide the service to you. We don't use your content to train AI models.

9. Acceptable use

Don't use AskRecruit to break the law, harass people, collect data you aren't entitled to, upload malicious code, interfere with the service, or try to access other customers' data. We may suspend accounts that do.

10. AI output

Transcripts and AI summaries can contain mistakes, especially with background noise or strong accents. Use them as a guide, check the original recordings, and make your own decisions.

11. Availability

We work hard to keep AskRecruit available and your data safe, but we can't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, ideally outside busy hours.

12. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or missed hires. Our total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

13. Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. After an account closes, unused credits lapse, and we delete your content as described in our privacy policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For important changes, we will email customers at least 30 days before they take effect.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the courts of Lagos State, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
